Greyhound racing is to return to Lifford after the stadium was granted a license.
After an absence of two years after it closed in August, 2019, the sound of greyhound followers is to be heard once again in the border town.
It is understood the first return of greyhound racing will take place in October.
It is understood a significant investment into the stadium reopening came from the UK Tote Group who will also operate at the stadium.
Cllr Gerry Crawford has welcomed the news.
He said “This is a big news day for Lifford and much credit must be given to supporters of racing in Lifford who have worked extremely hard to have this fine facility returned to use.
“Many people will now be looking forward to October and the reopening.”
