Mrs. Brown’s Boys star Danny O’Carroll has started an feel-good fitness movement after shedding some lockdown weight.
The actor lost over 1 stone in 37 days after buying a treadmill and switching to eating healthily.
Dubliner O’Carroll, who lives in Donegal, said he is delighted with all his hard work.
And he has his social media fans to thank for keeping him on track.
O’Carroll began posting his progress on Instagram last month and checks in regularly with photos, stories and progress pictures.

The positive changes he’s making have rubbed off on others, he said.
“I started off on Instagram as a real selfish type of thing to do to try and get people to motivate me to keep going but actually the tables have turned and people are saying how much I’m motivating them to get up and start doing stuff. So we’re helping each other and it’s a really great feeling,” he said.
O’Carroll was a guest on Ireland AM this morning to celebrate his feel-good transformation.
“I advise anybody that wants to lose a bit of weight to start posting their story on Instagram. All it takes is just one person to say well done,” he said.
O’Carroll revealed he hasn’t made any extreme changes to his lifestyle. His main efforts have been switching to early mornings and going to bed early, eating two/three meals a day, snacks and counting his calories on FitnessPal.

“I am just a normal person trying to lose weight, I’m not a gym freak, I don’t do the pre workouts, post workout drinks and all that.
“I’m just enjoying what I’m doing and I think that’s why people are taking to it so well.”
O’Carroll credits his wife Amanda as a top motivator too. His wife and Mrs Brown’s Boys co-star Amanda Woods is a dedicated fitness fan who inspired him to follow in her footsteps.
“She’s very dedicated to eating healthy and looking well and she looks stunning so I sort of feel like I should repay the favour, try anyway.”
The Mrs Brown’s Boys Live Tour will not be returning until next year due to the pandemic, but O’Carroll revealed that a Halloween TV episode is in the pipeline on BBC, while the Christmas specials are definitely making a return.
