WILL Seymore says Finn Harps have to become more ‘ruthless’.
After a derby defeat to Derry City on Friday night, Harps are on the road on Monday when they travel to title hopefuls St Patrick’s Athletic.
After a promising start to 2021, Harps have won just two of their last 12 games.
“We just have to be a bit more ruthless and put games away,” Seymore told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We have to look forward. We have to go again on Monday and dust ourselves off. We can’t hold onto that for too long; we have to go to the next game. Pat’s are a good team, but we have to shake this off really quickly.”
Ethan Boyle drew Harps level on Friday after Will Patching’s penalty put Derry in front. Just before half-time, Patching netted a free kick to secure a 2-1 win for Derry.
Seymore said: “It’s disappointment all round. We should have got a result out of it. That’s the way football is. We didn’t take our chances and it just didn’t fall for us.
“We did the right stuff well. We could have got the ball down and played a bit more. We bounced back and the confidence was there, but it just didn’t fall.”
