MARK McHugh helped to lead the way as an understrength Kilcar proved too strong for Ardara at Pearse Memorial Park.

Ardara 1-6 Kilcar 1-12

McHugh posted four points from frees and provided the assist for Conor Doherty’s goal, which helped the visitors into a 1-9 to 0-3 lead.

When Doherty fired home, the writing was on the wall for Ardara.

Early on, Ryan O’Donnell, Dara O’Donnell and Doherty kicked points for Kilcar and Doherty’s goal, rounding Paddy Gallagher in the Ardara goal, put the Towney men out of sight.

Lorcan O’Donnell and Tomás Boyle hit the Ardara points in the first half.

Boyle netted from a penalty for Ardara in the second half to reduce the arrears to three.
