AMBER Barrett scored a late consolation goal as the Republic of Ireland women’s side lost a friendly to Iceland.
Barrett, who came on as a substitute, netted in the 92nd minute, but the Girls in Green lost 3-2 at Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavík.
Ireland were 3-0 in arrears at half-time with Albertsdottir, Johannsdottir and Brynjarsdottir all scoring for Iceland.
Barrett came on at half-time and she had a hand in Ireland’s opener, four minutes into the new half with heather Payne riffling home from close range.
In added time, Barrett latched onto a Niamh Fahey pass to slot home.
