The launch of a west Donegal lifeboat was delayed at the weekend due to ‘bad parking’.
As a result, Bunbeg Coast Guard has asked members of the public to be more mindful of where they park.
“Earlier today (Saturday) our boat team was delayed by almost ten minutes when responding to an incident due to bad parking around the slipway,” a spokesperson for the local coast guard said.
“Thankfully, in this case, the incident was brought to a successful conclusion. However, it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or worse. We would like to remind everyone who visits Bunbeg harbour to please be mindful of where you park.”
A number of people had a lucky escape when their inflatable boat got into difficulty on rocks off Kincasslagh on Saturday. The incident happened when the rib (Rigid Inflatable Boat) got into trouble.
Thankfully, members of the Bunbeg Coastguard Boat were on hand and managed to bring the boat to safety. They were assisted by the Arranmore RNLI lifeboat.
No injuries were reported.
