DONEGAL native Fergal Harkin will not be Celtic’s new Director of Football.
Harkin has been heavily linked to the role in recent months, but it has emerged that he will not be moving to Parkhead.
The Ballyliffin man, a former Finn Harps and Bohemians midfielder, will instead stay in his current job of Football Partnerships and Pathways Manager at Manchester City.
Harkin (44) works with City’s young players in sourcing clubs for loan moves and getting them experience of first team football.
Harkin was tipped to land the Director of Football role at Celtic, but the job was not offered to him. Previously, Harkin was a young player at Leicester City while former Celtic boss Martin O’Neill was the first team manager.
