Here’s all the latest news from Buncrana Golf Club:
The competition last weekend was the W. P. Mc Carter Memorial and as usual there was a great turnout over the 2 days.
With another weekend of difficult pin positions and the rough getting heavy scoring was always going to be at a premium.
Young Craig Doherty played some great golf on Saturday morning to shoot a great score of 43 pts and managed to secure his first competition of the year. Craig had an average 20 pts over the first 9 but then played some great golf to shoot another 23 pts over the back 9 and if he continues this sort of form he will see his handicap come tumbling down over the next few months. In second place with 42 pts was Anthony Lavin who sees himself on the podium positions for the first time since joining and there will be a lot better to come from Anthony if he can continues this improvement.
The full results of the W. P. Mc Carter Memorial Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th May 2021 are as follows;
1st Craig Doherty (16) 43 pts, 2nd Anthony Lavin (28) 42 pts, Gross Christopher Mc Callion (1) 65 gross, 3rd Garreth Porter (20) 40 pts, Best Day Sean Quirke (Sun) (24) 40 pts, Back 9 Owen Doherty (24) 21 pts.
