A young Donegal man is fighting for his life in hospital after an accident in America.
Gary Reynolds, who is originally from Killybegs, fell out of a pick-up truck in Boston on May 22nd last.
The 20-year-old hit his head and suffered a severe head trauma.
He was airlifted straight away to Hospital where he had to have emergency surgery to relieve pressure from his brain.
He is currently in Intensive Care and is still in a critical condition.
Unfortunately, Gary also contracted Pneumonia and has a blood clot on his lungs.
Now Gary’s family back in Ireland have set up a GoFundMe page to support Gary’s cost which will not be covered by insurance.
And the response from the Irish public has been amazing after raising almost half the €50,000 goal in just a few short hours of being set up.
The money will also be used for Gary’s medical, rehabilitative and adaptive services.
A spokesperson for Gary’s family said “Gary will need months of treatment in America and we are hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
“Thank you so much for your Masses, Prayers, Donations and Support. It is truly appreciated.”
