Donegal is in for a hot and sunny weekend, according to Met Éireann.
Despite some drizzly spells this evening, the national forecaster said the weather will vastly improve over the coming days.
Any mist and fog will clear tomorrow (Saturday) morning and sunny spells will develop. The day will be dry apart from a few isolated showers, with afternoon highs of 17 to 19 Celsius. However, with light variable breezes, it will be a little cooler near the coast with temperatures dropping slightly to 15 or 16 Celsius.
But, the mercury could rise to a sizzling 19 degrees on Sunday – it will be slightly cooler from Tuesday onwards, but it is expected to stay dry until Thursday.
Met Éireann meteorologist, Aoife Kealy said: “This system will gradually clear through Friday, followed by high pressure becoming well established for the weekend. We’ll also have southerly winds which will bring warmer air and this, in combination with the strong sun at this time of year, means we’re going to see higher temperatures into the high teens and low twenties Celsius in places.”
