OLLIE Horgan knows his Finn Harps side have to ‘be right’ as they prepare to welcome top-of-the-table Sligo Rovers to Ballybofey.
On Monday night, Romeo Parkes’ 55th minute strike saw Sligo overtake Shamrock Rovers at the top of the Premier Division.
Horgan, whose side came from behind to beat Waterford at the RSC, hopes that his side can make life difficult for a Bit O’Red outfit that will be at Finn Park brimming with confidence.
“We hope it’s going to be tight,” Horgan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“They’re top of the table and they’re there for a reason. They’ve kicked on and they’re the form team. We know that we need to be at our best. If they’re at their best, we could be in bother.
“We feel that we have improved with the number of players that we can trust, put in and play.
we need to be right otherwise Sligo will stay at the top of the table. We need it to be tight.”
Barry McNamee, from a penalty, and Adam Foley, with his sixth of the season, scored twice in a minute on Monday as Harps returned to winning ways in the south east.
Horgan said: “You have to take your chances. Eventually we did. We started poorly and we could have gone 2-0 down. It looked like we weren’t going to break them down and it looked like it might have been one of those nights. They got what they deserved in the end up.”
