Donegal has its fair share of coffee vans and horse boxes but one team claims to have the nicest brew in the county!
The Wooden Brew in Tooban, Burnfoot, prides itself on ‘really damn good coffee’.
Established last September, the coffee trailer boasts and freshly ground coffee and scones baked daily.
And the newest addition – a wooden pod – invites people to sit, relax and enjoy their brew by the roadside.
“We can assure you a really nice brew at all times and you will never leave our trailer disappointed,” say the owners.
“The support of people, and seeing them come back every time is the best feeling in the world.”
A lot of research is required to source premium coffee beans, which are locally roasted. The Wooden Brew, with a vast menu of coffees, delicious smoothies and frappes, is no longer a stop on a journey, but it’s the destination for many.
The full menu can be viewed on the Bamboo app so you can order ahead and collect your coffee, a traybake or two, or a gluten free treat to enjoy. Fruit smoothies have also become a very popular option coming into the summer months.
While coffee stops are popping up in towns all over Donegal, The Wooden Brew team has been developing their trailer to the point where they are advising others.
“We were the first trailer conversion during the first lockdown. We know how tough it is to actually go and source everything yourselves to set up your dream trailer. We are now working with the best manufacturers in Ireland for equipment. We can help with your training, trailer, machines, grinders, marco water boilers to name a few items.”
So, the next time you’re in the Burnfoot area, why not take some time out and visit The Wooden Brew and see why it’s up there with the best!
