The Lady Captain Eugenia Moran, Captain Bobby Mullally and President Sean Boyle played off on the first tee at 11am.
President Sean, having not played in a while, passed over the mantel to Vice Captain Ian Ireland to play on his behalf and played off with the Lady Vice Captain Triona Daly.
The weather was unkind during the front nine with a number of showers of rain however the sun came out for the back nine making it a glorious day for golf.
Those who started play in the afternoon certainly got the better part of the day.
The first day for the return of the Juniors was also on Sunday at 5pm where 34 previous members turned out and there were 21 new members joining.
All the Juniors arrived with their parents. Members of the Junior Committee Sheamus Patton Junior Convenor, Mary Beth McBrearty, Girls Junior Convenor, the two Junior Captains Christian Harris and Sarah McBrearty, Junior Committee Members Mary Fowley and Elaine Russell, President Sean Boyle and also our Lady Captain Eugenia Moran were there to greet everybody.
It was a well organised event, Sheamus Patton gave an information instruction session to groups of Juniors in pods of six.
Juniors were then organised into fourballs in set tee time slots accompanied by an adult volunteer.
Junior Golf will be held at Letterkenny Golf Course every Sunday at 5pm during the summer.
