DONEGAL County Council is to address the issue of tarmac that has been dumped around the county.
The issue was raised at this month’s meeting of the Glenties Municipal District.
Cllr Micheál Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig brought the matter to the meeting and urged the Council to take it in hand.
“There is tar being dumped throughout the county, especially in Gaoth Dobhair, but all over,” he said.
“This question has been raised for a number of years.”
A spokesperson for Donegal County Council said ‘private operators’ were responsible.
“It will be addressed by the litter wardens and the waste management teams,” the spokesperson said. “ We will certainly follow up with that.”
