A Donegal DJ had the honour last night of playing in front of 3,000 people at a UK Government trial reopening event in Liverpool.
Declan McGlynn from Woodlands, Letterkenny, pumped out the tunes at the “Big Up, Liverpool” rave in the Circus Nightclub.
Around 3,000 people attended the rave as part of a pilot scheme to see how venues can reopen safely as the Covid-19 pandemic eases across the water.
A tech journalist with DJMag, Declan was a guest DJ at the first test of a large audience at an event with no social distancing.
However, he admitted being a little nervous ahead of the huge gig.
“Going to the Liverpool test event tomorrow and starting to get nervous,” he said the night before on his Twitter account.
“The idea that everyone is gonna jump at the chance to go back on the dancefloor, I think, is a myth. Gonna take a long time to unlearn the past 14 months. But, I am also excited to dance shoulder to shoulder.”
