IRELAND’S Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan, is back at work.
Dr Holohan has been off since the death of his wife in February.
Dr Emer Feely passed away after a long illness.
“The Department can confirm that CMO Dr. Tony Holohan has resumed his duties,” the Department of Health said in a statement.
Dr Holohan returned to work on Monday and is expected to ‘gradually’ resume public appearances.
Dr Holohan is the chairman of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The deputy CMO, Ronan Glynn, has filled in during Dr Holohan’s absence.
