Covid vaccinations continue to be rolled out with the number of patients with the virus in hospitals continuing to drop rapidly.
The latest figures show there are 260 people with Covid-19 being treated in hospitals across Ireland.
This is down 87% from the peak on 18 January when 2,020 people with the disease were hospitalised.
There are 58 patients with Covid-19 in intensive care units, a 73% reduction since 24 January, when 221 patients with coronavirus were in ICUs.
Health Service Executive CEO Paul Reid said Ireland’s vaccination programme was in a “new phase”.
In a post on Twitter, he said: “Huge thanks to all involved in vaccinations this weekend. Best day ever.”
He said 30,000 vaccinations were carried out on Good Friday while over 120,000 jabs were administered last week – “our highest ever”.
Mr Reid said he expected the roll-out would surpass one million doses during this week with over 930,000 done to date.
