Urgent answers and action are being sought over water issues in the Rossbracken area of Manorcunningham.
Residents have faced a series of water outages in recent months, including on Christmas Day.
After another outage last night, County Councillor Gerry McMonagle is again seeking a response from Irish Water.
Cllr McMonagle said residents need clarity, other than the “bog standard response” that is given by Irish Water when they say they are investigating the matter.
The issue needs a more permanent solution, Cllr McMonagle said.
Both Cllr McMonagle and Cllr Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly brought the Pluck/Rossbracken water issue before Donegal County Council in February. They told the council that residents were left furious without water on Christmas Day and have been afraid to drink the water in their homes.
Cllr McMonagle said an ‘overhaul’ of the system and investment in new infrastructure is now needed to solve the problem.
He added: “This is just not good enough, the residents in this area must have an adequate and constant water supply. I will be writing to Irish Water calling on them to upgrade the water infrastructure without further delay. It is the only way this problem will be solved in the long term.”
