List: ‘Christmas with Covid-19’ story competition winners revealed

The Co. Donegal Education Centre is please to announce the full list of winners of the Christmas with Covid-19 story writing competition.

The contest invited school pupils across the county to write about the impact of Covid-19 on their Christmas celebrations in 2020.

The competition had a huge response as children told stories of how they have made sense of our new reality. A new vocabulary has become the order of the day, with phrases like social distancing, hand hygiene and face coverings are now a normal part of our daily conversations.

Co. Donegal Education Centre’s Management Committee appointed a panel of impartial adjudicators to judge the entries. The winners were selected at a meeting of the judges via Zoom on Friday the 12^th of March 2021.

See a list of all competition winners and shortlisted entries below. The 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd prize winners in each category will receive a monetary prize and each student who wins first prize in their category will win an iPad for their school. All shortlisted writers will be be awarded a certificate of commendation.
