TWO more motorists were arrested for drug-driving in Donegal yesterday.
The Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit were conducting MIT (mandatory intoxicant checkpoints) yesterday when they detected the two motorists.
One of the drivers was found to be driving under the influence of cocaine. The other tested positive for the presence of cannabis.
“Never ever drive while under the influence of drugs/alcohol,” a Garda spokesperson said.
The latest detections come after concern was raised last Tuesday following the arrest of 13 people for drink of drug driving in the previous week.
“The numbers of people driving while under the influence is still too high,” Garda Claire Rafferty said.
“We appeal to people to think again if getting behind the wheel as they are risking their own life and the lives of others.”
