A BILL providing for mandatory quarantine has been signed into law.
The Health (Amendment) Bill 2021 was signed by President Michael D Higgins this morning.
This means that people arriving into Ireland from a list of 33 counties will have to quarantine for 14 days if they don’t have a negative Covid-19 test.
It has been reported that each adult needing the facility would have to pay roughly €2,000 for the quarantine period.
It is expected that the Defence Forces will have a role in the transporting of people to the quarantine hotels, with the process likely to be up and running within the next two weeks.
