A public appeal has been issued after a case of vandalism on a community walkway in Kilmacrennan.

The destruction was discovered this morning on the path to Kilmacrennan Park.

A fence was purposely broken and the wood was tossed into the trees.

The damaged occurred sometime between noon Friday and this morning (Saturday).

The Kilmacrennan Community Development Group has expressed disappointment with the vandalism and are urging people to come forward with information.

“This is not the only incident to have happened, rather it is the latest in a series of occurrences,” said a post on the group’s Facebook page.

“We are trying our best to create better facilities for all of the community to enjoy and it’s just heartbreaking to see that someone is going out of their way to damage and destroy the amenities that we are creating.”

The group is asking anyone with information to message their page: https://www.facebook.com/KilmacrennanCommunityDevelopmentGroup/
