Covid-19 vaccines land on Tory Island

The residents of Tory Island received their first consignment of Covid-19 vaccines today.

The drugs were flown to Ireland’s most isolated island on a charter flight, operated by Executive Helicopters.

The Executive Helicopters flight approaching Tory.

The operation was made possible through the collaboration of the local GP, the Ambulance Service and the HSE.

The doses will be dispensed from the Tory Island Primary Care Centre.

The delivery comes two weeks after Arranmore Island became one of the first islands in the country to receive the vaccines.
