A YOUNG Kerrykeel man has appeared in court after Gardai found him ‘unable to stand unaided’ while in an altercation.
At 2.55am on December 24, 2019, Gardaí were on mobile patrol when they encountered two males in the courts of a dispute.
The two men were behaving in a threatening matter, shouting and roaring, Sergeant Jim Collins said.
Gardaí said Stephen Holmes (23) of Ballymagowan, Kerrykeel, was highly intocacted and unable to stand unaided.
Solicitor for the accused, Mr Gordon Curley, said it was a ‘shouting matches between friends’.
“My client is remorseful and knows that he shouldn’t have created the scene,” Mr Curley said.
Mr Curley said his client was an apprentice electrician at the moment, but has aspirations to do a paramedic’s course in the next couple of months.
Judge Paul Kelly said he would strike out the charge if Holmes made a €200 donation to Letterkenny Youth and Community Club.
