A female walker was airlifted to hospital this evening following an accident on Croaghan Hill near Lifford.
The woman suffered lower leg injuries, according to a spokesman for Malin Head Coast Guard Station.
They received an emergency 999 call at 5:10pm alerting them to an accident at the popular spot.
The Rescue 1118 helicopter was immediately dispatched from Sligo and the woman was lifted off the mountain at around 6pm and brought to Letterkenny University Hospital.
Her condition is unknown, however, it is not believed to be serious.
Croaghan Hill is popular with walkers and day trippers and its summit is the site of an ancient hill fort and cairn.
