A RECOMMENDATION by Kosovar Sadiki has resulted in Hibernian striker Ryan Shanley joining Finn Harps on loan.
Shanley, who played in last weekend’s pre-season friendly loss to Galway, has been confirmed today by Harps.
The 20-year-old Shanley has been on loan to Forfar Athletic and Kelty Hearts.
The Covid-19 shutdown saw the lower leagues in Scotland suspended and Shanley returned to Easter Road.
Sadiki joined Harps from Hibs on loan before making a permanent switch. Shanley and Sadiki were team-mates in the Hibs development sides.
“When the opportunity came up to come to Harps I was in touch with Kos to see what he thought,” Shanley said.
“He told me he thought it’d be a good move for me, to come in and play at a good level with a good group.
“I’m delighted to be here. The boys have been great welcoming me in and I’m looking forward to the first game against Bohs.”
Last January, Shanley extended his Hibs contract to the summer of 2022.
In September, Shanley made his senior debut in a 3-0 win over St Mirren and wants to use his time in Ballybofey to catch the eye.
He said: “The main thing for me is to get minutes on the pitch, try to score as many goals as I can and do my best to help the team and get points on the board.”
