THE HSE Chief Executive, Paul Reid, has said he remains concerned at the high level of movement in the community.
At the weekly Covid-19 briefing by the HSE, Mr Reid urged the public to maintain ‘the level of resilience required to get us out of the wave that we are in.
“There are higher levels of movement across society, people going to work, in transit and moving between households,” he said.
The HSE chief warned that people losing focus now could present a significant risk to Ireland’s healthcare system.
He said: “We would be losing it when we are at a base level of the virus that is still a significant risk to all of us, and we know how quickly it can turn an explosive level, particularly if that was to happen at the moment.”
In the last week, he said, hospital admissions were down 13 per cent and admissions to critical care settings were down 13 per cent on the previous week.
