A woman has appeared in court charged with a number of thefts of cash from shops across the county.
Crucita Ionas, with an address at Main Street in Convoy appeared at a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court late last night.
The 40-year-old was charged in connection with six thefts of various sums of cash from shops across Donegal at various dates in December, 2019.
Detective Sgt John O’Sullivan outlined the cases of theft by deception at the stores.
The amount of cash stolen ranged from €60 to €700.
Among the shops targeted were outlets in Clonmany, Carrick, Letterkenny, Buncrana, Moville and Killybegs.
The Romanian national, represented by solicitor Patsy Gallagher, pleaded guilty to a number of the offences carried out at shops.
The court was told that €1,800 had already been paid in compensation to the shops which had been targeted.
The accused was sentenced to a total of six months in prison which was suspended for two years.
