The HSE has said it is exploring a number of sites in Donegal if it needs to roll out the Covid-19 vaccine on a large scale.
It is understood that 30 such centres are being set up around the country.
Work has already started on a number of these centres.
However, a spokesperson for the HSE told Donegal Daily that no firm decision has been made on any locations for Co Donegal.
A statement from the HSE said that Vaccination Centres will be used when the availability of vaccines is increased.
The statement added “The standing up of these centres will be dependent on vaccine supply and workforce availability. A number of third party facilities are being investigated which include hotels, convention centres, sports halls, third level colleges, racecourses etc.
“A number of locations are currently under consideration and will be approved and finalised by the HSE in the coming weeks.”
