Donegal County Council’s team of gritters will be sent out on the county’s roads from 5pm this afternoon.
It follows Met Eireann’s forecast of widespread snow and ice for most of the country from tonight and into Saturday.
Although the heavy snow warning is mostly for southern parts of the country, parts of Donegal are in line for snow also.
