WITH it looking increasingly likely that schools will not fully reopen until March, there will be talks this week over contingency plans for the 2021 Leaving Certificate examination.
It is expected that a decision will be made in the next couple of weeks.
The Department of Education is to sit down to explore what have been called ‘further possible options’ over this year’s State exams.
The closure of schools and a scenario that now seems set to keep their doors shut until March means that there are very real concerns over the format of the exams.
Last year, the traditional written exams were cancelled and a calculated grades system was introduced.
