Donegal has earned a Top 3 place in a list of Ireland’s best counties to live in.
Coming in behind Waterford and Wexford, Donegal scored a 67 on the ‘Ireland Liveability Index’.
The index was calculated based on house prices, proximity to a city, natural amenities and sunshine in each county.
The study shows that Donegal has many factors that make it a great place to live and work.
Although ranked in 23rd place for sunshine, Donegal’s natural amenities were highlighted as its strongest attraction. The county was listed at #2 in this category behind Kerry. “Donegal comes a close second with the magnificent beauty of its mountains sweeping down to meet the wild Atlantic in numerous remote headlands and inlet,” said the survey.
Donegal’s house prices were calculated as the third lowest in the country, while the close distance to Derry earned it 7th place in the ‘proximity to city’ category.
