IRELAND’s Minister for Education, Norma Foley, has placed a question mark over the 2021 Leaving Certificate examinations.
The Government last did did a U-turn on plans to have a three-day week for Leaving Cert students from next week.
Under that plan, a partial reopening of schools would have seen the resumption of in-class teaching for students set to sit their State exams in the summer.
However, after calls from the teachers unions, the Government shelved those plans.
In a meeting today, the Minister said that there will have to be a discussion over the plans for the examinations if students are not back in classrooms soon.
The 2020 Leaving Certificate exams were replaced by calculated grades.
