Donegal’s weather is to turn even colder in the next 24 hours.
The county is currently experiencing the wrath of Storm Bella with gusting winds leading to power-cuts locally as well as heavy rain.
Met Eireann has warned that the storm will last until the early hours of tomorrow morning (Sun).
But now the national forecaster has issued a second yellow warning for Donegal – this time for snow and ice.
The warning comes into effect from 6am and will last until 8pm tomorrow evening.
The forecaster said Donegal and Leitrim will encounter wintry showers and a risk of icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
Snow and ice warnings will also be in place tomorrow for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry with rain, sleet and snow forecast through tomorrow night into Monday morning with the potential for icy surfaces and some travel disruption.
