A MAN, who has appeared at a court in Donegal, charged with alleged serious sexual offences, has been returned for trial to the next sitting of the Donegal Town Circuit Court in March.
The man had a book of evidence served on him.
The man is charged that on a date unknown between September 1 2019 and December 13 2019 at a location unknown within the State, engaged in a sexual act, to wit, sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 17 years.
He is further charged that on dates unknown between October 6 2019 and April 19 2020 inclusive, at a location unknown within the State did communicate with a child by means of information and communication technology for the purposes of facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child.
And he is charged on dates unknown between October 6 2019 and December 22 2019 inclusive, at a location unknown within the State did communicate with a child by means of information and communication technology sending sexually explicit material to the said child.
The defendant was returned for trial to the next sitting of Donegal Town Circuit Court on March 23 next year
Two counsel were granted as the exhibits were quite ‘unique and quite novel’.
An order was made preventing the publication of anything that might lead to identity either the defendant or the alleged victim.
