A Letterkenny pub has closed its doors for Christmas due to concerns over Donegal’s Covid-19 case numbers.
The Central Bar on Main Street, which currently operates as a gastro pub, last night announced that there was a positive Covid-19 case among their staff team. The pub closed for today, Thursday, for cleaning and for all staff to undergo testing.
However, a new announcement was issued by management today to say that The Central will not reopen for the Christmas period.
“However, due to the rising number of cases in Donegal, and with the well being of our staff, their families and our customers in mind, we have decided to close for the coming weeks,” said a notice on Facebook.
Management added that they are working closely with the HSE contact tracing team following the positive Covid-19 case. All staff that are deemed close contacts, they said, will be tested today and a deep clean of the premises will be carried out.
“We will try to contact all bookings to let them know of our closure but we would ask you to share this post to spread the news,” the statement said.
