Mother of missing Cian returns to England ‘with heavy heart’

The mother of missing man Cian Langelaan has moved back home to England in the week of her son’s 28th birthday.

Anthea Langelaan has vowed not to give up hope in finding her son, who has been missing from Donegal since 27th September.

She is planning to continue her appeals to find Cian from the Isle of Wight.

The last confirmed sighting of Cian was at the end of September in the Hornhead area, near where he was living in Falcarragh. Gardaí are continuing to ask the public to look out for him in towns and townlands all over the county.

The young man’s mother has issued a heartfelt thank you to the public for their support and the search goes on.

Writing on the ‘Find Cian’ Facebook page, Anthea said: “Reluctantly and with a very heavy heart I have decided to return to England. I will continue what I am doing here in Donegal, trying to publicise Cian’s disappearance and spread awareness. I no longer tramp the hills of Horn Head and believe that Cian must have moved on from the area before the knowledge of his disappearance was known and the Missing Persons posters distributed.”

Anthea added that Cian’s photo will be shared in an appeal in an upcoming edition of the Big Issue Magazine this month, and commented that she will be forever grateful to people who have shown kindness and helped her in recent months.

She said: “I do not have adequate words to thank you all for what you have been doing to try and find my son. Please continue to look out for him … I will NEVER give up and knowing the kindness shown to Cian while he was living in Falcarragh, I truly believe that he will never be forgotten here either.”

If anyone has any information in relation to the whereabouts of Cian, they are asked to call Milford Gardaí on 074-9153060 or contact any Garda Station.
