MARK Timlin wants to make up for a lost year when he returns to action with Finn Harps in 2021.
The Buncrana man has committed to another year at Harps.
Timlin missed the entire 2020 season due to a cruciate ligament injury sustained in a pre-season friendly against UCD in January.
However, Timlin has put pen to paper for another 12 months in Ballybofey.
“It was a very tough year,” Timlin said.
“I’d felt really good during the preseason and it was devastating to not be able to carry that forward. I’ve worked really hard to get myself back and I can’t wait to be out on the pitch again.”
The 26-year-old first signed for Harps in 2017 having been at Derry City for the first part of that season.
After beginning his senior career at Derry, Timlin played for St Patrick’s Athletic in 2016.
Ollie Horgan, the Harps manager, is delighted to get the former Ipswich Town youth, back on the books again,
He said: “Mark has been very unlucky with injuries the past couple of years but to be fair to him he’s kept at it and has worked really hard on his recovery.
“He’s a good lad and was a big part of the dressing room home and away this season. Please God he has the worst of it over him now and we can get him back and firing next year.”
