THE Donegal LGFA have not ruled out the possibility of Maxi Curran being involved with the Donegal senior ladies in 2021.
Curran’s three-year tenure is at an end and the Ladies Board have circulated an advertisement seeing applications for the post.
Curran was recently appointed as coach to the Gaoth Dobhair senior team, who will be under the management of Kevin Cassidy and Joe Duffy next year.
Curran, the Ladies Board has clarified, has not ‘stepped down’.
“Maxi’s three-year term was up and it is just standard procedure that the job be advertised again,” a Donegal LGFA source said.
“He may apply again.”
For the first year of his involvement, Curran was joint manager with Damian Devaney.
Curran guided Donegal to three Ulster titles and they were All-Ireland semi-finalists in 2018, when they were semi-finalists.
Curran previously managed St Eunan’s in 2014 and 2015 before returning in 2018, when he double-jobbed with the ladies and a similar situation could yet arise again in 2021.
