The funding is part of a Government initiative to recognise the difficult year that students have faced during the pandemic.
Almost all classes have moved online and a range of activties cancelled as students struggle with normal college life.
All students who avail of the SUSI grant will get a €250 top up in their payments in the run up to Christmas as part of the scheme.

Separate arrangements will be made in some cases for students to collect their €250 in order to make sure every student in the country gets a payment.
The one off €50 million spend is part of Budget 2021 and is an addition to the €15 million IT scheme, €10 access supports and €3 million mental health spend increase.
