DONEGAL manager Declan Bonner has expressed his concerns about the state of the playing surface at the Athletic Grounds.
The Armagh venue was yesterday selected to host Sunday’s Ulster final between Donegal and Cavan.
St Tiernach’s Park in Clones was ruled out due to the lack of floodlights for the 4pm throw-in.
Ulster officials convened after Cavan’s win over Down at the Athletic Grounds.
It is understood that the Athletic Grounds won a vote against Omagh’s Healy Park to host the final.
The goalmouths cut up badly during yesterday’s game – and Bonner hopes the decision won’t be to the determinant of the final.
“I would have definite concerns about the pitch,” Bonner said.
“Both goals and going out 25 metres, it looked pretty dug up.
“We can only take it that the powers that be will see to it that the pitch will be win a proper playing condition.”
