Like many towns across Donegal, the Twin Towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar have struggled to find something to smile about during Covid.

But last night (Sat) there were plenty of smiles when the towns switched on their Christmas lights.

Lots of people turned out while remembering to socially distance as the spirit of Christmas took hold.

The lights were switched on just a day after McElhinneys unveiled their fabulous Christmas window display.

Many thanks to Gerard McHugh for the photos.
