A MAN who told Gardaí that he was carrying ‘hash’ was also found in possession of cocaine in Letterkenny.

On June 24, 2019, at 7.45pm, Gardaí spoke to Kieran Murdoch on Main Street, Letterkenny.

Murdoch (29) of Robinson Hall, Letterkenny, was said to have appeared nervous and agitated when approached.

Gardaí asked if he had anything in him and Murdoch said: “I have has on me.”

Gardaí searched Murdoch and found a small bag of white powder in his jeans pocket.

Cocaine with a value of €80 and €30 worth of cannabis resin were found on Murdoch, who has no previous convictions under the misuse of drugs act.

Solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher said Murdoch had ‘health issues due to addiction’. His client was socialising on rally weekend and his suspicious demeanour drew the attention of Gardaí.

Judge Paul Kelly said that he would not convict if Murdoch made a €150 donation to the Letterkenny Youth and Community Club.
