Donegal man sent to stand trial on drugs charges

A DONEGAL man has been sent forward to stand trial on drugs charges.

A book of evidence was served on Nicholas McFadden (38) of Windy Ridge, Milford at Letterkenny District Court.

Gardaí gave evidence of serving the book on the accused.

McFadden did not speak during the brief hearing before Judge Paul Kelly.

McFadden faces two charges, possession of and supplying of cannabis on August 28, 2019 at Dromore.

Judge Kelly gave McFadden the alibi warning – meaning that he must provide to the State within 14 days details of any alibi he intends to rely on during the trial.

The accused was granted bail in his own bond of €500.

Judge Kelly assigned solicitor Patsy Gallagher and one legal counsel for the trial.

On the direction of the DPP, McFadden’s case has been forwarded to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, which commences on January 26, 2021.
