A man who threw a garden ornament through the window of a Garda station has been fined and ordered to pay damages.
Manus Doohan appeared at Letterkenny District Court charged with a number of offences.
On August 14th last he was arrested by Gardai in Falcarragh after he picked up a garden ornament from a local garden and threw it through the window of the local Garda station.
The ornament smashed the window and caused €140 of damage.
The court was told that Doohan was also arrested for his own safety in Letterkenny on August 24th last after he was drunk.
Gardai said he had a bottle of whiskey in his hand sitting on a bench slouched over on Main Street and they had grave concerns for his safety.
Judge Paul Kelly said he was aware of Mr Doohan.
He fined him €200 for causing criminal damage at Falcarragh Garda station and ordered him to pay €140 in damages.
He took the other drunken charge into consideration.
