AN TAOISEACH Micheál Martin has confirmed that Ireland will make a nationwide move to Level 5 of the Covid-19 restrictions from midnight on Wednesday.
In a televised address from Government Buildings, Martin confirmed that the stringent new measures will be introduced this week.
The move to Level 5 will be for a period of six weeks.
All bar essential retail will be closed, while pubs, cafes and restaurants will be permitted only to have takeaway service and a travel restriction of 5km will be in place.
