A LETTERKENNY man was found to have €6,000 worth of cocaine for sale and supply when Gardaí carried out a search of a premises.
On March 14, 2019, Gardai executed a search warrant under the misuse of drugs act.
Gardaí located Adrian Brogan (32), of Sliabh Sneacht Close, at the back window of the property. Brogan was observed discarding something out the window.
Brogan was detained by Gardaí, who carried out a search.
Other paraphernalia was found, including a quantity of cocaine, a white powdered substance believed to be a mixing agent and digital weighing scales.
Brogan made admissions in interview that he had the drugs for the purpose of sale and supply.
Solicitor for Brogan, Mr Michael Shiel, told Letterkenny District Court that his client had got into ‘considerable debt’ due to a drug problem.
“He was trying to sell drugs to fund his own debt,” Mr Shiel said.
“He has now paid people off that he owed money to. He has attending drug counselling and is now off drugs.
“He has held his hands up and has co-operated with the Gardaí.”
Judge Paul Kelly adjourned the case to January 11 to allow for the preparation of community service and probation reports.
“It is a very serious offence,” Judge Kelly said.
“It is not necessarily the only option, but I will explore it fully.”
