THIRTY new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Donegal, health officials have confirmed this evening.
The latest figures from the Department of Health this evening mean there have now been 195 cases of Covid-19 detected in Donegal within the last 14 days.
Today’s is the largest daily figure of new cases recorded in Donegal,
Nationally, there were 234 new cases confirmed and there were two further deaths of people who were confirmed to have Covid-19.
Ireland’s death toll from Covid-19 is now 1,794.
Since the outbreak, there have now been 33,675 cases of the coronavirus confirmed in Ireland.
Donegal’s 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 is the second highest in the country.
The latest figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) examine the cases of Covid-19 between September 8 and September 21.
In that period, the incidence rate is highest in Dublin – at 136.9 per 100,000 population. However, in Donegal the number now stands at 106.2
No further deaths were recorded in Northern Ireland today with the death toll remaining at 577.
The Donegal U14 GAA final, which was due to be played between Buncrana and Gaoth Dobhair in Letterkenny this evening, is among the postponements.
