A POPULAR amenity in east Donegal has closed temporarily due to a positive Covid-19 test.
A member of staff at the Lifford Old Courthouse has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a note, the Lifford Old Courthouse management say that the staff member in question was not in direct contact with diners or visitors.
While no other staff members are displaying symptoms, management have taken the decision to close temporarily,
The note on their Facebook page said: “As a result, and in the best interest of our customers and staff, we have made the decision to close Lifford Old Courthouse in order to implement our emergency Covid plan, and have asked all staff members to contact their GPs to seek advice on being tested before re-opening.
“This decision has been taken for the safety of staff and customers and is the right course of action at this time. We will keep customers updated as we move through this process.
“As a community run organisation this is obviously a huge blow, but safety must come first and we look forward to safely re-opening when the time is right to do so.”
