Gardaí in Donegal are warning local business owners and staff to be on alert for fake Sterling notes which may be in circulation this week.
The alert comes after counterfeit Bank Of England £20 Sterling notes were intercepted in the west of the country today.
“They look like good copies but the quality of the paper is poor. Some of the notes have the same serial number on the back,” said a garda spokesperson.
“Please be vigilant and advise your staff and share amongst your contacts.”
